January 2, 2018

Watched the fireworks from the Space Needle announce the new year. This year the fireworks were different from last year. They were more spectacular, They redesigned them because the  Space Needle restaurant and observation level are going through a remodel, they are covered by a plastic cover. Unfortunately I did not take any pictures.

New Year's day I made bake beans in the slower. My mother always made baked beans on the first day of the new year.

After I went through all my e-mails, I watched videos on Craftsy unlimited.

I am doing my laundry and going through my e-mails. The clothes are in the dryer now. I live in a low income high-rise apartment building downtown Seattle, the Belltown area.

I got up at 3:30am to do the laundry. We have 16 floors, eight apartments on each floor. There only four washers and four dryers. When I got down to laundry room this morning only two of the washers were working. I have found that by getting up that early I get a better chance getting at least two washers.

I weighed myself this morning and the scaled showed me 291 pounds.


My To List for today:

  • 1. Clean the Kitchen.
  • 2. Shred old documents (I am a paper hoarder).
  • 3. Work on the Wall Hanging for Alki Court.

That is a good start to my projects for 2018.

End of year thoughts and New Year goals

Have not worked on the blog for a long time. I need to start working on it. This will be slow, but I will learn everything about blogs as I go.

I two main topics that I want to blog about - Quilting and Weight Loss.

2017 has been a lot of ups and downs. I only worked on a few quilts, did not complete anything.

I started working on losing weight and I have lost 61 pounds. I had attended the UW Weight Management program.  It has taken a year to loose the weight. It wasn't easy but, I found that for me going slow is the best way. I have had times when my weight yo-yo, but eventually it would continue to go down. By going slow it gives my body time to adjust to the weight loss.

I have set mini goals for my weight loss. I weighted 353 pounds when I started.

First goal was to loss 50 pounds. Attained this goal.
Second goal was to go below 300 pounds. Attained this goal.
My new goal is to reach 250 pounds.

For 2018 will continue working on my weight loss, also do more quilting. I have a lot of quilt tops made just need to finish them.
